Boulder City is the other side of Las Vegas. Located just minutes from Hoover Dam, in view of Lake Mead, and 15 miles from Las Vegas, Boulder City may just be the perfect residential community. The city boasts extremely low crime, clean air and water, and is the only city in Nevada with no gambling. It has some of the lowest utility rates in the nation and one of the lowest property taxes in the state.

The city is truely run by the residents. Boulder has strict growth ordinances in place which restrict the number of new building permits to 120 per year, only 30 of which can be obtained by a developer. All the land surrounding the city is owned by the city and requires a vote of the people to sell off 1 acre or more. The majority of new construction in town consists of custom homes on land that has been privatly owned for a number of years. Boulder City is the biggest city in Nevada based on city limits. The city owns approximatly 250 square miles of land, only 5 of which is developed.
